For the past three years I have been running a monthly poetry and rap night called Find The Right Words at Leicester's only pub theatre, Upstairs at the Western. For the first year it was a real struggle to pay the acts, find any open micers and get people in to watch it, there were times that I definitely wanted to give up.
Two years on and I'm really glad I didn't as now we've built a real community of people who come back each month whether to come to the workshop beforehand, take part in the open mic or just sit in the audience and watch the show.
Find The Right Words has been selling out the past few months and we've had to turn people away at the door which is a real shame. This is one of the reasons why I've teamed up with the producers at More Fuzzy Logic to create the Find The Right Words podcast - a 45 bit edit of the highlights from each month.
Our first podcast includes headline sets from John Osborne and Joelle Taylor, our speed poet for the month Will Horspool and a few poems from our open micers. I also inflicted a few interview questions on John in the pub afterwards.
