In all of my 'this will be a weekly thing' optimism, my workload has over taken my good intention and it's taken me a while to find the time to update this however...
2010 me, sat in my smokey student flat would be so excited that 2015 me recorded a poem that went out on E4 for National Poetry Day - twice! I think I was even described as an 'urban poe't. There were lots of other poets involved too. More info here
Find The Right Words
Find The Right Words featuring Inua Ellams and Jemima Foxtrot (again! After a last minute headliner drop out!) was sold out this month which was a brilliant feeling. I remember the days I used to have to drag people off the street to form some sort of an audience. The workshop with Inua beforehand was pretty packed out too. It was lovely to see such a range of people involved. The next event is on the 28th October and will feaure the wonderful Raymond Antrobus and Jackie Hagan. More info here
The tour continues...
We're about half way through the Burning Books tour now and a definite highlight was performing at the Tom Thumb Theatre in Margate which is a tiny, beautiful little building which was built in 1803 by a slightly mad woman who used to put on her own pantomimes where she was the only cast member. It's now run by Jess (who is lovely and not mad) and we had a great time. Who knew Margate was so trendy!
Other Stuff I'm Interested In...
